If you are like most new horse owners, you want to do the very best for your horse. As a matter of fact many horse owners look after their horses more than themselves! They are expensive and require love and attention but aren’t they worth every effort and every penny of it?

Protect your horse by using safe fencing materials such as wood, vinyl or plastic rail or if need be mesh wire fencing. If you live in the warm south, a shady place to stay cool will make your horse very happy. If you live in the cold wintery climate or a rainy climate like ours a shelter is necessary and a dry clean area where your horse can lie down.
Good quality hay is a good option if the grass isn’t good or mostly grazed. And of course a large supply of fresh clean water plus minerals and salts is necessary.
